DIY: Rainbow Rice Crispy Treats
These are your standard rice crispy treats but served in a fun way! I did rainbow for my daughters birthday party, but you can mix and match any color. Heres how to do this!
2 boxes of Rice Crispys
4 Bags of Marshmallows (one bag for every color)
3-4 Gel Food Colors (use this link, these are amazing!) You only need a tiny drop and the color is beautiful.
In a large pop, melt 4 tablespoons of butter, then add the whole bag of large or small marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. Add 4 cups of rice crispy to the pop and stir until the cereal is completely covered. Take a tooth pick and add a small amount of color gel, mix until all incorporated.
Spray a cookie sheet with coconut oil or non-stick spray and set next to the stove. Quickly transfer the rice crispy treat from the pop onto a cookie sheet. Slowly mold the rice crispy onto one side of the sheet until flat and pretty hard. Let sit. (Don't use wax paper, it will stick).
Wash out the pot and start the next color.... do this as many times as you need to make the colors you choose.
Before these get hard, put them in the desired order and smash together!
Using a sharp flat knife, I used a fish knife, start cutting squares or desired shapes.
I thought it would look cute to add sticks to the bottom and make them easy to eat.
Hope you enjoy these as much as we did! It is really easy to make and so festive!
