Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat broiler and move the rack to the middle.
- Wash and dry each piece of salmon, cut to the desired size. Season with salt and pepper and let sit for a couple minutes before rubbing both sides with blackened seasoning.
- In a cast iron skillet (or any large oven safe pan) add 2 tbsp of butter and completely melt. Then add garlic and let sauté until fragrant and clear. Then add honey and water and let cook down for 1 minute.
- Add soy sauce and consistently stir to get the right consistency. *TIP: Add more honey or soy sauce if you want a thicker glaze.
- Then add the juice from one half a lemon.
- Once the sauce has come together and is boiling, add each filet side by side on the skin side down.
- Place a small lemon slice between the salmon filets. Start basting the top of the salmon with the honey glaze. I just use a spoon and constantly move the glaze from the pan to the top of the salmon.
- Let the salmon cook on the stove for about 3-5 minutes. Then transfer to the oven for no more than 5 minutes. Make sure to bast the salmon at least twice while in the oven.
- Salmon should be completely cartelized and golden brown.
- Garnish with parsley and serve on a bed of mashed potatoes!
