This sweet and savory dish is a one pan wonder that your entire family will love! You can spicy this up with some sriracha too!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler and move the rack to the middle.
  2. Wash and dry each piece of salmon, cut to the desired size. Season with salt and pepper and let sit for a couple minutes before rubbing both sides with blackened seasoning.
  3. In a cast iron skillet (or any large oven safe pan) add 2 tbsp of butter and completely melt. Then add garlic and let sauté until fragrant and clear. Then add honey and water and let cook down for 1 minute.
  4. Add soy sauce and consistently stir to get the right consistency. *TIP: Add more honey or soy sauce if you want a thicker glaze.
  5. Then add the juice from one half a lemon.
  6. Once the sauce has come together and is boiling, add each filet side by side on the skin side down.
  7. Place a small lemon slice between the salmon filets. Start basting the top of the salmon with the honey glaze. I just use a spoon and constantly move the glaze from the pan to the top of the salmon.
  8. Let the salmon cook on the stove for about 3-5 minutes. Then transfer to the oven for no more than 5 minutes. Make sure to bast the salmon at least twice while in the oven.
  9. Salmon should be completely cartelized and golden brown.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve on a bed of mashed potatoes!
